About

Hello! I am a self-taught guitarist and a trained singer who, though I thoroughly enjoy singing many kinds of music, focuses on folk and traditional music. I was also fortunate enough to be selected as a semi-finalist for the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards 2016.

I was first introduced to the world of folk music by hearing Joan Baez’s Plaisir D’Amour, which completely blew me away. I promptly bought more of her music and began investigating other songs I could learn. When I moved to Edinburgh from Birmingham, I befriended a whole load of other folkies who taught me many more songs, as well as the further joy the folk tradition can offer through singing with other people and sharing music with them.

I am also one half of folk duo Peerie Faeries.

If you would like to hear some examples of the songs I perform, please visit my songs page or my videos page.
